When I log in to ChatGPT, I am prompted for a login failure and a message "something went wrong. please make sure your device's date and time are set properly"

This is shown on my screen. I followed Fluffygarl’s comments and it’s solved the problem.

It finally worked. I don’t know if it’s a new update or what but previously I didn’t have two factor authentication enabled. I enabled it and now it worked.

(I don’t know if this is relevant but I logged out of my Apple ID on my “Mac" and logged in again but I never logged out on my iPhone)

I have no idea if this is relevant or they just fixed it somehow but I thought I should share it.

My solution was to clear the Play Store cache and storage, force stop it, and restart. Then, clear ChatGPT’s cache and storage, force stop it, and uninstall. After reinstalling, it worked again.

This is what worked for me on my Pixel 9 Pro XL.

hello,

all of a sudden i cannot use my ChatGPT open ai app as well. last week my wife’s S8 phone had this issue, with these steps:

  1. Clear the cache of Google play store.
  2. Install the last version of chatGPT.
  3. Clear the cache of chatGPT.
  4. GO to settings → apps → Google Play Store → uninstall updates
  5. open Google Play Store and Update it to the last version
  6. Open chatGPT… And

it worked, however now happening on my S8 on Android 12, i still get the dreaded:

Is anybody else also having issues since 2 days?

I’ve uninstalled GPT app, reset google play, checked for SafetyNet bypass denylist and it’s in there, so that’s not the issue. Cleared browser cookies, etc

No chance. Thank you!

that worked on My wife’s phone but not on mine, no chance. Any other clues?

I recently faced the same issue but i fixed it . I uninstalled the original chatgpt. Then i installed the 2023 version from APKPure (but that didn’t work). Then i uninstalled that version also . Then i installed the original latest version from play store and it worked.

Hi Bro. I would like to know how to download the latest Google Play Store version.

Guys I wanted to share this, if you are rooted it worked for me

  1. Downloaded “Play Integrity Fix” module from GitHub (look for “PlayIntegrityFix” by Chiteroman on google) and installed it throught Magisk (You have to have Zygisk activated beforehand)
  2. Clear cache and data for the following apps: Google Play Services, Google Play Store, Google Services Framework and ChatGPT
  3. Rebooted the phone

This worked for me as mentioned also above.
Device was rooted.

Need to install PlayIntegrityFix.
Also important afterwards to Clear Data from Apps
Google Play Services, Google Play Store and reinstall ChatGPT.

To all iOS users, time ago I was testing with an old iPad 10th gen with iCloud bypass (didnt know it was bypassed when I bought second hand). It maybe a coincidence that API Device check has an error, also somethimes I have iCloud problems related to date and time not setted properly or not connecting to server correctly.

Please check if that is your case and write it down here to check if that is a general problem related to that

I hope this helps someone… In my case, this error occurred on iOS.
On my device I use additional antivirus software. One of the functions of which is VPN.
So the error was repeated until I went into the settings of the antivirus program and disabled the VPN function.
After that, I was able to successfully log into the program on my iPhone and all chats were synchronized.

I have fixed it!

Reset data of google play store + google services framework + google play services + ChatGPT app and then restart your phone.

MAGIC!

This actually fixed my issue. After following your steps I was immediately signed into my plus account.:grinning::+1:
Thank you so very much😁

This has been very troublesome bug for the application, I don’t know why OpenAI is not fixing it despite these many reports!

None of the listed or tried solution & it’s combination worked for me!!

  • Clearing Cache
  • Clearning data
  • Uninstalling & Reinstalling the app
  • Clearing Play Store
  • Clearing Play Services
  • Clearing Play Services Framework
  • Changing default browser
  • Rebooting the phone

Play Integrity is already present and passing the integrity test.

Only summoning the god is left!!!

This would have been resolved if they would have integrated the login within the application rather than opting to use system browser.

Solved after I upgrade my iPhone to 17.7.1

!!! Delete it before upgrade and reinstall after upgrade.

So if you’re on an iPhone, trust me, all you need to do is clear all your browsers’ caches.

I’m using an iPhone running iOS, and I tried countless methods over the course of several months. In the end, after I cleared the cache of both Safari and Chrome, it magically started working perfectly—I can log in now.

I think the reason is that when you use the ChatGPT app on your phone, the login process is actually handled in the background by a browser (Safari or Chrome, depending on which one is set as default). So the issue was with the browser’s cache.

Have a nice day~! Good luck
