Unable to make payment from India

Hi Everyone,

I’m unable to make payment from India. This was working fine till yesterday but now it’s not working. Tried, multiple payment methods, multiple cards, multiple browser. Nothing is working. Is anyone else facing this issue?

I am experiencing the same issue as well. The saved payment methods with which I have transacted multiple times in the past are not working either.

@animesh2 were you able to make the payment?

I am experiencing the same issue too and OpenAI support replied with a generic response saying my bank is declining the transaction but it is not since I could pay for ChatGPT subscription. It is a specific problem to the Openai API platform.

Failing for me too. No support from OpenAI.

Earlier, it was possible to directly pay the OpenAI’s Stripe’s invoices without having to ‘save’ the payment method, as that does not need e-mandate.

However, the current billing platform requires us to save the payment method before completing the payment, and then the ‘payment_method_id’ of the saved card is used to make the payment. This needs e-mandate in India, which OpenAI has not configured on their Stripe portal, thus the “payment_intent_unexpected_state” and the 404 errors on /confirm endpoint.

Effectively, this sunsets the OpenAI’s API platform for India.

facing the same issue. My case though will I was trying to make a payment for $10, card got charged for something around $5. However, the payment is not reflecting on open ai dashboard!

Same issue. My card was also charged for 5$ and the status of the transaction is “pending”. I’ve tried wit visa, mastercard and amex, and international debit cards. Nothing works.

Facing the same problem.

I got this in API response most probably the e-mandate thing @meetul mentioned

Any update on this? we have to do a huge data gen it has been pending for a whole day because of this.

Same exact issue with me. API credit payments not working since Friday. I have tried multiple cards, browsers, laptops, accounts. I use make scenarios with OpenAI to give marketing services to my clients. I will have to refund them and loose the client or try other LLMs like Cloude to continue my services uninterrupted.

Still unable to add funds, this is pretty bad.

I’ve been using OpenAI APIs for a year and a half and have always been able to pay. I usually pay 1-2 times a week.

I’ve not been able to pay since yesterday and getting this error “A processing error occurred.”

I’ve tried using multiple cards issued from multiple banks and also tried creating other accounts but nothing seems to be working.

I have live apps and my balance is now 0

Have you ever faced this issue and if yes then how did you resolve that.

I’ve reached out to openAI too but they haven’t responded back yet.
