Regarding the GPT-4o model: Recently, several users and I have noticed a new limit in the free version of ChatGPT with the GPT-4o model—approximately 10 messages every 3 hours. I understand that there need to be certain restrictions in the free version, but this limit is simply unacceptable. I believe I am not the only one who thinks this way, so I kindly ask you to reconsider this decision and adjust the limit to improve the user experience

Life is not free. 3 messages seems appropriate to me.
I understand that resources have a cost, but limiting users to just a few messages every few hours greatly affects the experience. Fortunately, this issue has already been fixed, so it’s no longer a problem. Thanks for sharing your perspective

I totally feel the same way. Over the past week, I’ve noticed how limited the GPT-4o model feels, and it’s been a bit frustrating. I ended up using other AI brands while waiting for the cooldown or the limit to reset. It would be great if the limits could be reconsidered to enhance the overall user experience

it still hasn’t been removed for me, has openai made any statements about this? it’s honestly just inconvenient for those who use it for things other than spam generating images 
i do hope that they’ll change it or at least adjust it as they advance more
I noticed the limit too since they rolled out the new image generation thing, and it’s been so frustrating because at first I thought It was just a glitch for the traffic that came along the new feature, but damn I have to start switching between using other AI and stuffs. I hope they fix this soon.

I unfortunately also have this problem, it’s been happening since March 31st or 30th 2025, and I quite hate it! I understand restrictions and limits, but I had 50 questions before, and I had to wait 24 hours to use gpt 4o, which I understand and loved it that way, now it’s just too limiting.
I still have the same problem, unlike you.. did you specifically do anything to get the restriction removed? Like it went from 10 to 50?
Hi. From what I’ve heard, this restriction was put in place due to the excessive use of the image regeneration feature. They removed it afterwards, but I’ve recently noticed that they’ve added the limit again.
Agreed. I personally preferred 50 Message in exchange for waiting an entire day to use again rather than 10 message every three hours.
Why don’t they calculate image regeneration as 5 times the normal usage, don’t you think?
I agree with you. If they’re placing those limitations on the GPT-4o model because of image generation, they should restrict only that feature, not the entire GPT-4o model.
Exactly, I completely agree with you. Being able to send 50 messages in exchange for waiting 24 hours was totally fine, considering it’s the free version.
