Hi YuJie,
Thank you for reaching out to OpenAI Support.
We understand that, even after purchasing ChatGPT Plus, you’re encountering issues with creating or editing your custom GPTs. You’re seeing the error message, “Oops, an error occurred!” along with a 404 error when trying to access these features. We also see that you’ve tried troubleshooting by clearing your browser cache and cookies, as well as using different browsers and incognito mode, but the issue persists. Allow us to look into this for you.
Sometimes, users of ChatGPT might see errors like “Something went wrong” or similar. The error you’ve experienced could be due to a range of factors. It might be an issue on our end or possibly a problem with your internet connection.
Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve the issue:
Retry the request again later - this often solves the problem.
Visit our status page to check for any active outages that might be temporarily impacting the service.
Clear your browser’s cache and cookies.
If you’re using a VPN, try disabling it.
Try using an incognito browser or a different internet browser/computer. Sometimes, a security add-in or extension can cause this type of error.
Disable any cookie blockers you might have enabled.
Consider connecting to a different network, such as switching from WiFi to a cellular/mobile network.
Even without a reported outage or issues with your network, these errors can randomly occur. While they’re less common for ChatGPT Plus subscribers, they can still occur from time to time. In most cases, retrying the request later resolves the problem.
We hope this helps! Let us know if there’s anything else we can assist you with.
Tried to update one of my old store GPT it has been in store 7 months and is still in store generating chats but I can not access under the hood to update it, so now I can’t create new ones or update old ones.
It may be related to the sidebar on browser interface only showing four GPT and chat GPT. App works fine but you can’t create or edit GPT on app of course . My custom GPT all still work all still published and I have access to them through explore GPT. I can also open them from my GPT. Clicking create GPT does opps error but creates a new one but edit of any GPT causes opps error.
See how you can’t see but 4 gpt in sidebar now on browser. The drop down is gone …
This is 5 days now.
I subscribe so I can use Custom GPTs for work.
Is this function ever going to be available again? At the moment, we cannot rely on the function whatsoever. This is catastrophic…
Can anyone suggest an alternative provider for Custom GPTs which has full access to the Web? I need to move on now…
5 days with a core subscription service outage is a full breach of SLA (and trust)
The issue is still there and on the status.openAI site is no incident reported. Im currently writing my Thesis about AI and ChatGPT please do something
I am in the exact same boat. Unable to create new GPT’s… I get the “oops” screen. When I go back and refresh, I see a new “untitled” GPT . I can not edit that GPT, or do anything with it besides delete it.
I only have mobile devices so I can’t generate a HAR but this is error IMO it is in edit not create…
Mine does it every time. I’m researching how to do HAR on iPad but it looks like it is a hard nut. It just goes instantly into oops. Click the pencil and it don’t even try to link to anything it is instant. Then when you refresh the new gpt is in list but it can’t be edited none of them can even past ones clicking edit and create causes oops error. So it’s edit cause create takes you into edit and the error is at the edit stage. You can still delete gpt though. But you can’t get to the build edit screen so copy is gone
I think the GPT Builder just isn’t OpenAI’s priority. Great product. Cool idea. Not their focus. And now there’s lot of other platforms providing white-labeled GPT building now which might be the better going forward.
Same issue. Will only add that I also have it in the Windows app. Updated this morning but issue persists. Cannot create a new custom GPT or edit existing ones.
