Problem report

Issue: authentication problem as soon as entering password and “login”: Oops!

Working: Microsoft Edge Windows 10
Working: Chromium Version 109.0.5407.0 (Developer Build) (64-bit)

Failure: Firefox 102.xx ESR Windows 7
Failure: Firefox 118 Windows 10
(Firefox 118 not reloaded has maintained its session for now)

Troubleshooting:

disable extensions, + private browsing, + cache disable, developer console…

no network errors, only 200/302 http status codes.

chat.openai.com working fine (except for orange “high demand” warning.

I think this is a new code release. I get the same result with a second account on the affected Firefox. About 1.5 million characters into the minified js code.

I also can’t log in with Firefox and 2FA, with the same “Your authentication token is no longer valid” message. No problems signing in with Chrome.

I’m currently facing this same issue with Firefox on macOS. Everything works fine when I try to log in through Chrome, though.

Not fixing it: different account, one without using a Google email that might have been mistaken for authentication service.

Not fixing it: spoofing a user agent.

Same here. I can login via Brave, but in Firefox login does not work, even with fresh empty Firefox profile

UPDATE: workaround did not work on 2nd attempt. @Locust2520 's solution below worked for me .

Same issue with Firefox on Ubuntu, cannot login. With Chromium on the same system it works.

Same exact issue here. Doesn’t work on firefox on linux, but works in chromium. Tried disabling enhanced tracking protection too, didn’t work either.
Also tried in a private browsing session, same issue there. So not related to cache or such.
