I’m having issues with search on ChatGPT. The new search has stopped working completely, and the web icon has disappeared, reverting back to the previous “/search”
Has anyone else encountered this issue?

New search on ChatGPT works on GPT-4o and GPT4-o mini.
If you use GPT-4, o1-preview, o1-mini, or GPT-4o with Canvas it does not work (FOR NOW).
Please check which model are you using.

I should have mentioned that I’m one of those who got access through being on the waitlist although my account is on the free plan, so there was no option for me to choose between models.
same thing happened to me!! i got it from the waitlist(i got free plan) it was there for like 2 days and its gone

Same here, it was here for a couple days and now I can’t find it. But the thing is, my friend is a plus user and he still has it.

still if I select icon and tries to search, ChatGPT generates output without using new search feature, it uses normal free user search features.
it is not able to show any type of design, as mentioned on website (format/designs: weather, stocks, news,). even if device GPS is on, it’s not able to show correct weather. Model is not able to show searched images, sources.
I tried many devices, reinstalled app, clear data/ cache, even tried to use VPN nothing works.
OpenAI sent me mail about I’m eligible for this feature, for first some days its accessible with all working condition, after few days they removed feature, now since 4,5 days its back and not working little bit.
now its back still not working as it was.
this feature is not able to show images, format,…

the generated output is full paragraph without mentioning sources.

Did you set up ON your personalization and enable ChatGPT customization? If it’s ON, the Web Search toggle should be active.
I just tested it, and it works well on my iPhone.

same thing here: free user, had “new” search before (weather results with pictures, etc.), then it disappeared, now it’s back but it looks like it’s the old search
Its not working for me too. I got SearchGPT through the waitlist but now the feature has disappeared. Dont know whats up with that.
