This icon does appear. But when I click and search something, the search results show up in old format. The new format of SearchGPT is missing.

Which model are you using?
If you’re using GPT-4, it will appear in the old format.
If you’re using GPT-4o or GPT-4o mini, it will display in the new format. You can see sample screenshots below:
I am using the 4o model. I got SearchGPT at first by signing up through the waitlist, but then it disappeared with no explanation.
Based on Introducing ChatGPT search:
All ChatGPT Plus and Team users, as well as SearchGPT waitlist users, will have access today. Enterprise and Edu users will get access in the next few weeks. We’ll roll out to all Free users over the coming months.
I am not sure why it is disappeared although you are a SearchGPT waitlist user.
Maybe, it is being updated.

Yea idk why it disappeared. Hope it gets fixed. Its been a while now without SearchGPT.
is there any way to make 4o model default? for free users.
because on App its says 'ChatGPT-4" instead of ‘4o’
It is not a bug. ChatGPT cannot know its model.
But it knows it is built based on GPT-4 architecture.

When you use Free Account, it starts with GPT-4o model as default.
After 10 prompts, it turns to GPT-4o mini model.
Approximately after 4 hours and 35 minutes you can use another 10 prompts again with GPT-4o model.
It shows tools.
Now, it shows on Free Account as “Browsing”
Because it is FREE account, It uses “Browse” tool instead of “Web Search” tool.
Although Free Account uses GPT-4o model, it uses “Browse” tool that is used also on GPT-4.
OpenAI declared here about “Web Search” tool for Free users:
It will roll out to all Free users over the coming months.
Big question is: “WHEN?”

You can try models copy paste link to your browser, but, default_model_slug is “auto” as you can see above image in latest third line, so you cannot switch.
Hi everyone,
For those who are still facing issues, when trying from web, could you confirm that the search icon is indeed selected before executing the query? If not, the old search results will continue being returned in the old format. Please see the attached screenshots.
If the issue persists and you were on the waitlist, could you DM me your email address and I’ll check if the feature is enabled for your account?

so now, is there any whitelist user having issue till now
because feature is back again
I have the globe icon, but still the “old” search
check again, now its working for me.
Does anyone still have an issue of ChatGPT’s search not working even if they select the search icon?
