You’ve exceeded the 6 request(s) every 360 minute(s) rate limit, please slow down and try again.
This is a backend payment processing issue. “Please slow down” is from Stripe. The API rate that OpenAI should have is not Stripe’s limits for noobs as default, but should be more along the lines of a billion dollars a month.
OpenAI made a huge intractable mistake by being so closely connected with a third-party platform for billing and logging API calls, along with the open-door hiring policy of those with vestments from the same company.
The rate language would seem to be based on you, but it is more likely to be based on OpenAI’s connection problems to its payment processor if you haven’t made multiple interactions with the platform site in adding cards.
Payment issues continue on OpenAI. Despite the opportunity to fix a significant issue a few weeks ago with unlocking new accounts, promoting tier, and crediting the payments, recent forum anecdotes of “paid but no service” still reappear recently.
If you can’t try again in 6 hours as the error would indicate…likely the larger platform issue…and at least you are blocked from making an uncredited payment.
