Disconnect your VPN connection before processing payment. This fixed my inability to process the charge with several debit cards.

It does not work for me. I always seem to have trouble subscribing to OpenAI plus, as my payment is consistently getting declined. I tried three cards and it does not work.
Even Apple Cash is declined! Tried multiple devices, browsers, networks, and forms of payment. So frustrating!

Yeah same. Some reason my ChatGPT Pro subscription decided to purge itself and now nothing is working in terms of payment.
I finally got through with the combo of Chrome + GooglePay + PayPal. Good luck!

I have same issue with italian master card 
Same issue, have been trying for whole day with multiple debit and credit cards from India, but none of them are going through… having worst payment experience.

Exact same issues.
Card works on multiple sites. Transacted online and in person several times today. Open AI is the only one not allowing the card.
Stripe you’re losing a lot of money for OpenAI!

Same issue for me. I get “Your credit card was declined. Try paying with a debit card instead.” Called credit card company – the transaction never made it to them. Decline is not from credit card company.

Same problem here. Billing had worked for two months and then all of a sudden stopped working. Fix your credit card processing system!

Unfortunately, I encountered the same issue while attempting to renew my subscription using my Mastercard, as the transaction was declined.
Same issue. OpenAI’s article did not resolve it.
I’ve tried multiple cards, Apple Pay, multiple devices, multiple browsers, cellular & WiFi, and all the generic troubleshooting steps. These transactions aren’t even hitting my cards. It’s pretty clear that Stripe is the problem - not the people trying to pay OpenAI more money.
Please read all these comments. It’s very clear the issue is with Stripe, not our cards/devices/banks/locations.

I’m having same issues as above described; tried multiple cards, using chrome and brave on laptop and mobile phone, called my bank and they said the decline hasn’t hit their system. Very frustrating.
Did not work for me. I’ve tried everything. Multiple credit and debit cards, multiple browsers, incognito mode, phone. Rejected every time. The service is supposed to be available in Ireland but either it’s not, or Stripe is rejecting Irish payment methods, which would be sad considering that the Stripe founders are Irish.
