Your account was flagged for potential abuse

My account was deleted apparently. I think I’m definitely suspended for good. Not much fun writing a fanfic

Your cell provider is T-Mobile - it is of German origin and has local US service, so it is ok.
When you try to open the account you were in a Comcast Wifi connection - US origin, it is ok.

Did you try opening the account from a computer using your Comcast connection?

It is also good to turn the scripts off in the browser. It detected some issues when the script server or the script itself does not match the domain with the ISP domain - it is considered a cross-origin error: computer from one origin, script from another.

If your owned domain is hosted on a trusted site, maybe the email is not the problem. But it is good to try first with the most common email providers - mainly the ones doing business with OpenAI - otherwise, it would be contradictory.

But that is one of the few pieces of data we have shown, the “flagged” is a much more common issue in phones than computers - usually, in plain and simple computers, many connection issues arise from a VPN or old cookies in trusted browsers, if not an ISP problem of some sort.
We wonder now if that happens uniformly distributed to all phone brands - or if it is more frequent on non-supported country brands.

I appreciate your insight, Alex.

Yes, account setup was done in Edge, on my daily driver, and on my Comcast link. No proxy, no VPN, no incognito mode.

Adguard was on while signing up, with the default ruleset. If that causes abuse flagging during account creation, the product is predatory and consumers are much better off being suspended than using it.

The cellular device is an iPhone 13 Pro running the latest release of iOS. The phone line is on it’s eSIM.

The domain’s email is hosted with FastMail, which is a reputable email host.

I was interested in the product for use at the enterprise I’m with, but this experience has ruled it out. I will be pitching something else (likely jasper) instead. I don’t mind going into more detail about my experience to help others avoid it, but I no longer have any desire to use the product or try to get an account created.

Sorry to hear that. And we appreciate that you’re sharing your experience.
I am not saying ChatGPT is the best thing ever, but it is quite interesting when we know how to use and explore. Helped me in much technical stuff… and failed miserably in others. BingAI (GPT-4) is just a deluxe search engine - limited to 20 questions for free accounts. But searching, we can do it by ourselves.

I will not insist - I understand if you don’t want to test it - no problem. You did everything alright… almost, just one piece of information revealed one of our suspicions:

It is a good piece of software. Don’t get me wrong, but:
AdGuard Software Limited was founded in 2009 in a non-supported country but moved its headquarters to a supported one in 2014 to avoid trading barriers.
Some AdGuard versions use VPN APIs for ad blocking, the reason why received no updates from 2018 until 2019 due to Apple policies at the time.
Basic versions use a recursive DNS resolver: invalid addresses for domains that appear in their filter lists.
Native mobile versions for Android and iOS. The application sets up a local VPN, which filters all traffic on the mobile device.
AdGuard’s app for Android was discontinued by Google Play at the end of 2014, despite the owner still updating on its own.
In 2020, MS Edge Store and Chrome web store were infiltrated with fraudulent add-ons posing as various legitimate VPN browser add-ons, including AdGuard’s VPN add-on.

I am not saying if you remove AdGuard your sign-up will be fine - but there is a great chance that AdGuard behavior, or even the software, is blacklisted in Cloudflare/OpenAI login.

I’ve got nothing contrary to say to that. Some of it I wasn’t aware of, actually.

Regarding its (the eponymous product, as opposed to their VPN offerings) use of mobile device VPN, the configuration profile & the tunnel it establishes is routed to an endpoint on-device as you stated. As I’m sure you are aware, the entire point of VPN is strictly to encapsulate traffic at the network layer (OSI model). Once packets exit the endpoint, there’s no indication that they came from a different network which is by design. Ergo source IP remains the same (as it is a local VPN), and traffic it filters is not distinguishable from regular device traffic so it should not make a difference with signups.

In my case however, the above is irrelevant. Signup was done from a Windows 10 Pro desktop with Adguard running locally which does not utilize a VPN to achieve filtering.

I’d be willing to test account creation on a freshly imaged laptop on the same ISP, same email domain with one of my other cell lines on the same account. Alternatively I can simply disable Adguard and wipe local storage/cookies and try again from the same machine, though I suspect there’s enough fingerprinting in use here that it wouldn’t work because of the prior flagging. Whichever you feel would be a more useful test.

tài khoản của tôi cũng bị vậy, tôi không biết lý do. Và tôikhông có cách khắc phục

That is ok. But there is another suggestion, perform the tests you proposed another day. Today was the “flagged” day - much more than the daily average and much more than other connection issues. I checked the OpenAI status page - and everything is going ok - but we don’t have access to Cloudflare stats, and we don’t know if they changed something. We also detected the “flagged” issue in other conversations on this forum from supported countries.

We can’t confirm if this could be from the OpenAI side due to excessive access or subscription requests. Their Help bot just came alive a few hours ago - it spent all day long off, in maintenance due to overload.

Give some time to get things to calm down, don’t waste your email addresses on tests in such situations.

Sorry for my Vietnamese.
I am sorry to say, but Vietnam is not one of the Supported Countries -if you are trying to access it from Vietnam probably it will be blocked even on a normal day.
Today was not a normal day.
Please read my first post, and click on the link with Supported Countries List.
But if you are accessing from another country, a supported country on the list, please advise.

Trang trạng thái OpenAI: mọi thứ đều ổn;

Come on, man. You don’t know your ISP and you are behind a VPN/Proxy from a non-supported country.
I am not OpenAI employee, I am an user only, I am here just to help people.
Wo bu shi laoban. Be careful on okggnode servers - never put one of these in your phone.

Roger that. Dropped a “RemindMe! Next Week ChatGPT” on my calendar so there’s time for any bug or subscription spike to be resolved and I don’t forget.

You really should be getting paid for the time you spend here. You’re doing far more for the brand image than OpenAI is.

Now that I think about it though, it’s hard to not do better than arbitrarily banning new signups with a notice to contact support at a page with no contact information. Truly disgusting.
