Why is the Long-Term Memory Feature in ChatGPT Not Available on My Account?

Hello everyone,

I’ve been really excited about the new long-term memory feature that has been mentioned for ChatGPT. From what I understand, this feature allows the AI to retain information across different interactions, which would be incredibly useful for ongoing projects and personalized assistance.

However, I have not been able to access or use this feature on my account. I’ve checked for updates and ensured that I’m using the latest version, but the long-term memory capability still seems unavailable to me.

Is there a specific reason why this feature might not be accessible on my account? Are there any settings or prerequisites that I might be missing? Additionally, is this feature being rolled out gradually, and if so, is there a way to know when it will be available to all users?

I would appreciate any guidance or information on how to enable or troubleshoot this feature. Thanks in advance for your help!

Best regards.

I am having this exact same issue. I have been a gpt plus subscriber for a long time, but i can’t see any feature related to memory, even though it says it’s available for all plus users.

OpenAI tends to do phased rollouts which is why you might not have access to it. Just like with the Advanced Voice mode feature.

I hope it’s fine to mention this here, if you’re still not able to access the native long-term memory, I made a custom GPT that provides long-term memory capabilities. It’s also usable outside of ChatGPT. It’s called MemoryPlugin.

That is funny because before I signed up a few days ago the chat was using it in a vary limited way. I see that I have the option now that I am a plus user. But it keeps telling me it cant use it.

Edit using Remember ~ memory before what you post will fix this problem I say this for any one that has this issue as I have after signing up for the subscription.
