Weird signup Problem asking for a non-premium phone number

thank you brother booom worked for me as well - just adding my country code again.

I’ve tried using double zeros and still nothing, i’ve tried with a single zero still nothing, i don’t know what’s going on

Edit: I’ve tried it again now it says it cannot verify

I had this problem too! The solution is, to put your first digits manual (even tho you see it already on the left side) In my case, Belgium, I saw +32 on the left side, I just wrote 0032 with my phone number following) and I received the code to create an account.

I did as #esat5avdulai said and wrote the whole number so it said +46 preset for sweden and then i wrote 0046mynumber without the first zero. So if my number was 070998866 I wrote 004670998866 and it worked. so thanks for the tip.

Hi, everyone,
I just found out how to solve the premium phone number problem: simply add two 00 before your phone number. It worked with me and I hope it will work with you.

Hi, everyone,
I tried adding the 00, but I selected Colombia then the number that appears is: 57 0057301xxxxxxx. and the error message is different, then I can not create the account. What country should I choose?

POSSIBLE SOLUTION: Ignore the country code that is shown, and just insert your country code and number. G luck

0 or 00 or whole thing. No joy. Either invalid or premium.

Thanks. I solved the problem by using the country code. In my case, I used (+57) 57300xxxxxxx, and it works.

In my case, I entered no zeros. If in the US I guess it should be only 1+number. My case (507) i entered 507+number. No zeros. Glad it worked for my Colombian neighbor.

I’m from Mexico, I don’t have a landline or premium or voice telephone, I try 00 and 0 before the number, and I wait several hours for it to delete records but it doesn’t work for me, I opened help.openai.com and the bot answers the same as try and and wait but it doesn’t work, i have put 3 mobile phones and it doesn’t work. openai needs to check for this false positive in its security process.

Tried this week from New Zealand and had the same problem.

Hey guys!

I solved this by typing the (+46) before my number, but just the 2 digits and no plus.

Example: 46763350971

I am having the same problem currently, it seems like they only allow us phone numbers,
I also tried to use all the mentioned work arounds (00, 0, countrycode etc.) and none worked.
I would really like if openai could provide some information about this issue.

The problem is solved by entering the country code again (without 00 or +). In my case after selecting UAE +971 appeared itself, I entered another 971 followed by my phone number (e.g. +971971xxxxxxxxx) and got the sms.

I found a workaround for this. Had the same issue right know on my first account.
Entered my phone number with the following format choosing a country code from the list and entering my number

+### ########

Got the error you are getting.

I fixed quickly just by adding two 0s before my number like so:
+### 00########
Immediately Got my sms code from sender AUTHMSG entered it and registered.

The 0s make whole “premium number” validation fail but they don’t have any effect on the number at least in my country.

Give it a try worked for me.

This is not working for me. I’ve tried all suggestions and every combination. I’ll have to wait and try again.

I FOUND IT
all u have to do is rewrite ur country code and then ur phone number. for example in cyprus it’s 00357. hope this helps <3

Its not allowing me to change the prefix (countrycode)

Yo lo resolvĂ poniendo de nuevo el indicativo del paĂs antes de mi nĂșmero telefĂłnico sin el +. El mensaje me llegĂł inmediatamente
