I’m not sure what’s happening.
I always upload documents to ChatGPT (for Mac, iPad or iPhone). I then work on those documents with ChatGPT. I ask questions, etc. about the documents. Sometimes days pass, sometimes even weeks.
So far there has been no problem.
Now, for the past few days or so, it keeps telling me it has no more access to the document I uploaded because a new rule from OpenAI or so made documents expire after a while. For data privacy reasons it said (I’m in the European Union if that matters).
It told me such documents usually expire after a few hours. Okay, so I keep re-uploading the documents (which include absolutely zero personal information, by the way) all the time, which is pretty annoying.
Now it has started telling me, even after just a few minutes, that it doesn’t have access to the documents anymore, because they expired. What?!
I don’t get what’s happening.
What’s also happened recently was that my memories were full (it would be great if we could get unlimited memory by the way, or if at least OpenAI could give us a selection tool with checkboxes so erase many memories at once, instead of deleting them one by one).
So I thought it may be linked to my full memories. I removed plenty of them now, but I’m still having this issue with expiring documents. Maybe it’s still linked to that but just needs some time.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Very annoying.
