Unable to Start Free ChatGPT Plus Trial with GoPay (Indonesia) – "Payment was not approved" for More Than a Week

Hello,

I have been trying to start the “Start your free Plus trial (1 Month)” offer using GoPay (Indonesia) as my payment method, but the payment consistently fails.

The error message shown is:

“Payment was not approved”

I also checked the browser Developer Tools console and noticed the following error:

POST https://r.stripe.com/b net::ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT

What I have already tried:

  • Different browsers

  • Incognito/Private mode

  • Different internet connections

  • Disabling browser extensions

Unfortunately, the issue still persists.

This problem has been occurring for more than a week, and I have not been able to activate the free trial.

I would like to know:

  1. Is GoPay currently supported for ChatGPT Plus subscriptions in Indonesia?

  2. Is there any known issue affecting GoPay payments?

  3. Has anyone else experienced the same problem recently?

  4. Could the Stripe-related console error be connected to the payment failure?

Any help or clarification would be greatly appreciated.

GoPay is supported for ChatGPT subscriptions in Indonesia.

Since the payment is still not going through, this may need a closer look. Could you please create a support ticket and share the case ID here? I’ll take a look and help investigate further.

Hi, I experience the same problem with @rakyat-solo. I try to start “Start your free Plus trial (1 Month)” offer using GoPay (Indonesia) as my payment method, but the payment consistently fails.

I try to create support ticket for this. But I experience issue in creating the support ticket. I find out OpenAI help center (https://help.openai.com/en) have no create ticket button. I wrote my issue to AI support bot in the website. The bot forward my issue to support specialist. But, the bot don’t reply when I ask it for case ID number. I am not able to provide case ID due to this.

I also got the same problem, please help me solve this , i also have that offer Start your free Plus trial (1 Month), but the payment consistently fails. I alraedy tried multiple payment method, but all of it fails, i already tried gopay, alraedy tried other debit card all have the same response

I experience the same problem when I use credit card and Gopay when I try to start the free Plus trial. It has been going on for more than 1 week as well.

I recently receive reply from OpenAI Support Team via email regarding my Gopay issue. This is my case ID: 10334299.

I also have encountered the same problem. Last month, a friend of mine has successfully subscribed to ChatGPT plus and he told me just recently after his subscription expired. I opened my own ChatGPT and found the promo is still there, so I tried to subscribe it as well. Unfortunately, I encountered the same problem and it says my card is declined. That’s odd

I also experience the same problem. I have 10 USD in my bank account, and they still rejected it. I thought this is a scam or something.

I’m also experiencing the same issue as well. From Indonesia, tried using gopay, and 2 different visa debit cards, all declined.
