Subject: Unable to Access API and ChatGPT-Team — Issue Unresolved for 3 Weeks

Hello,
I’ve been trying to resolve an issue with accessing the ChatGPT-Team platform for three weeks now, but the problem remains unresolved. I’ve contacted support multiple times, provided detailed descriptions, and attached screenshots, yet the responses I receive do not address my actual issue.

Issue Description:

  1. Two Subscriptions:

I currently have an active ChatGPT-Team subscription.

I previously had a ChatGPT Plus subscription via Google Play, which is now canceled.

Because of this, I am experiencing a conflict between subscriptions. The system constantly redirects me to the canceled ChatGPT Plus subscription management page, preventing me from accessing ChatGPT-Team settings, including API access (https://platform.openai.com/), Fine-Tuning, and other essential features I need for my work.

  1. API and Functionality Issues:

I need access to the API for my work, but I cannot use it due to this subscription conflict.

I also cannot use Fine-Tuning and other features that are critical for my projects.

  1. Support Responses:

The responses I receive are often generic and do not address my specific concerns.

For example, I was advised to manage my subscription via the app, but this does not resolve the issue with API and platform access.

It feels like my messages are either being ignored or handled by a system giving template responses.

What I’ve Tried:

I’ve contacted support over 30 times.

Sent detailed descriptions of the issue and provided screenshots.

Asked if it’s possible to transfer my subscription to another email address to resolve the conflict, but I’ve received no answer.

What I Need:

  1. Full access to ChatGPT-Team, including API (https://platform.openai.com/) and Fine-Tuning.

  2. A clear and specific response rather than generic templates.

  3. A resolution to the subscription conflict.

Please, if someone from the OpenAI team sees this, help resolve this issue. I highly respect your work, but this level of customer support is unacceptable. I just want to use the subscription I’m paying for without these unnecessary complications.

Thank you for your attention, and I look forward to your assistance.

Hello. OpenAI generally won’t address account specific issues here. It is a forum of community members, developers. If it wasn’t for the palpable pain and suffering, I also wouldn’t be offering coverage for this absence of support.

I can give some insight of how you can differentiate the uses of the API, subscriptions, and two different accounts.

Firstly, the use of the API is not predicated on any ChatGPT subscription or service level. It is linked to your login name being used, giving you access to your API organization. That is where you can purchase credits to fund API services, which are not included with and do not need a ChatGPT subscription. Fine-tuning is not something you do that is connected with ChatGPT, either.

Then, there is the simple fact that OpenAI remembers you in the browser, with massive amounts of personal and account data being stored, from persistent authentication tokens to even playground chat histories and enabled features. Storage that can even be incompatible with past client software of the web application. That is only a concern if you truly have two different accounts, two different login names using different authentication names and passwords.

It is impossible to change the authentication method. OpenAI just won’t do it. You are stuck with the email address, even if your access is lost and then OpenAI starts popping up login challenges to check your email. A system unrivaled in the tech sector for user unfriendliness. Then that use of a Google or Apple email can be migrated to their authentication system login, with issues.

So it seems clear that the first task is to establish your logins clearly. Do you have one, or do you have two? Answer for yourself.

You can log into the platform.openai.com site for API, and get an understanding of the linked API organization, payments in billing, credit balance. If needed, you can log out. Then proceed again to the login page and try the alternate credential. Then with its own “help”.

In the case of single account, unraveling teams, or leaving teams, and maintaining or migrating your chat data and settings is more headache still. It was possible to be signed up for both at the same time and get billed for both. I’ll leave addressing that topic, where you look under “plans” and decode subscriptions, for when you have more information figured out about accounts.

Sorry, that sucks!! I think everything is run by bots, such nice responses though…UGH! Maybe you could use a different email. Cancel it all and use a different email?? Next step is use a different AI. I have used others, there are a lot but yes OpenAI is the best. I would ask ChatGPT what to do. I had an issue with them not creating images that they thought were inappropriate, they were not at all. ChatGPT gave me and email address and told me exactly what to write! LOL! I know it’s frustrating because you do start to depend on it for work, it has taken my work time in 1/2.
