March 2024 and still no support for payment with PayPal. Very disappointing. Any updates on this? Maybe even a schedule?

Paypal will likely never be an accepted form of payment as advanced AI is subject to strict export restrictions. Credit card payments make following the regulations around AI access easier. It’s unlikely they will go out of their way to recreate all of the infrastructure around KYC just so they can accept PayPal.
Just for your reference, PayPal does have business accounts that require the registration of tax information and/or government-issued IDs, besides personal accounts.
A business PayPal account might fulfill the requirements to know your customers, while I doubt whether link (subbrand of stripe) fulfills the requirement to know the customer.
Hi, although PayPal isn’t supported for subscribing through the web interface, I noticed that the option to pay with PayPal is available via Google Play when clicking the subscribe button in the Android app (see attached screenshot). I haven’t tested it yet because I’m currently waiting for the new voice update in the GPT-4o model to be rolled out before subscribing to the paid features.

I also can’t use PayPal to pay for subscriptions. OpenAi please add PayPal to the ChatGPT subscription payment option!
Because not everyone has a credit card.

Since chatgpt exists on phones iOS and Android is totally false that you cannot pay with paypal.
Link a payment method on iPhone or android with paypal, download chat gpt OpenAI app, click subscribe and pay, you have paid with paypal.
So since 1 year ago paypal method is accepted by this method.
