Here’s to hoping that this gets more visibility, the support bot isn’t able to help on this.
Any hints on why this is happening? is there a filter on their servers that preventing it to send email to us if the registered email is contains symbols on the email or on certain domain?
Unfortunately dispite the many attempts of contacting support there has been no help so far.
I recreated everything with a gmail account and so far there has been no asks of confirmation of my email on that side which leads me to believe with all the information above and experience that it is:
A problem with the implementation on the frontend of SSO specificly of Apple on the platform.openai.com website. Or handling the response from iCloud correctly. Since it works with Google and Microsoft SSO, and other webpages have no problem with iCloud SSO.
A problem on the backend with confirming the first email-confirmation or signup so it redirects to onboarding when it shouldn’t and therefor doesn’t send
Very unlikely / ruled out:
3. Filter on iCloud side of the automatic signup generation, but all setable filters have been thourougly checked by all of the above. Other applications work perfectly with icloud signup. All other emails of OpenAI DO arrive in good condition to iCloud. So this scenary is becoming less and less likely which leaves the first two.
It is unfortunate there is no way to get better support for this since the users with the same problem seems to be growing every day. If there is anyone who has direct emails or phonenumbers to OpenAI to see if the problem can be escalated that would be helpful?
Or anyone from OpenAI willing to respond that they have noticed this problem and are on it?
Exactly, this is why I don’t suspect it is a problem with Apple/iCloud since the rest works but is on the implementation side of OpenAI. The standard response of OpenAI is to check iCloud settings and contact iCloud, which is not the solution here.
There seems to be some hope: From OpenAI I just received a response that they are taking this to the technical team to check if it something related to SSO, so hopefully they will find something to solve this.
Same issue. Users also reporting this issue on Apple Support Forums. This is an issue on OpenAI’s side, able to receive other emails through Private Relay just fine. I am unable to use my balance on my API account since I can’t login to my account…
Tossing my situation in the ring, I’m also still unable to receive the verification email using Apple SSO. Not using private relay, but iCloud hosted with custom domain.
+1. I’m just glad to know it’s not just me. I’m trying to use the Playground but locked out when trying to use AppleID to log in. No verification email delivered.
