I’m trying to use Chat GPT 4, my account is the normal Plus version, but all of my history of chats and any new chats I try to enter give me the following message:
Oops, an error occurred! Try again
I have tried different browsers, deleting some historical chats, clearing cache, and restarting laptop ( when all else fails turn off and turn on again ) - but no joy. I am not using a VPN and it has all been working fine the past year. Any ideas of what is causing this?

It’s starting to look like it might be Windows 7/8 users who are affected. I have Windows 7 (with Google Chrome) and it’s affecting me and many others in that thread.

As of today, August 9, it’s now working for me again. I didn’t do anything different, so whatever it was they fixed on their end, for me anyway.

Seems to be on browsers like Chrome and Safari on Win7 or Win8 machines. That’s messed up. They will not force me to use a specific OS, when everything in their version from a week ago worked FLAWLESSLY. I will move all my users and workflow to CLAUDE or LAMBDA if this isn’t fixed. OpenAI will lose many users for this, that will discover better trained models out there, and this will ruin them if they don’t help.
You can’t even see your previous chats because of this error??? That’s unacceptable.
I use Windows 8.1 and the Chrome browser. GPT 4.0 worked flawlessly recently. Does OpenAI bill me 20 USD monthly to make sure that I run the latest operating system and browser? Please don’t make me update because it is not that easy and fast.

Not just Windows. I’m on a Macbook running Safari and it suddenly started happening yesterday. I’ve tried everything that ChatGPT (successfully running on my iPhone14 with Safari) suggested. Nothing works. At first, I thought it was because I’m using the free version ,but it seems that isn’t the problem.
