I have tried the steps they provided today. Still DID NOT work.
I am a Plus member and tried to switch to GPT-4 (as mentioned above). The icon is in grey now.

How? i am in the same situation…
Its been two days i am unable to upload any pdf file in the chat gpt plus. while people without plus subscription can easily do so. what is benefit of having plus subscription?

I have a solution, you need to download the chatgpt app on your phone, then upload the pdf or image to your phone, then log in to your account on your PC, search for the chat and continue.
I hope OpenAI fix it soon

There is a solution to this, make your own gpt or use existing gpt like code copilot, code, python etc. Problems is with chatgpt 4o window. Other gpts are working fine and capable of reading files.

OpenAI Team is not giving any respond and fix to this.
Me too. I can’t upload/attachments. That feature and functionality does not work. I can see the paperclip icon but cannot attach files. Need to be able to do that. Please help.

4o still seems very broken when trying to deal with excel files. It uploads the file, displays the data in a table on screen and then tells me it failed to upload the file and read the data…
I’ve has this problem for months and still even experience it today. It’s a nightmare.
