Missing "Personalization" section and "Memory" settings

Could anyone explain to me why in ChatGPT settings in my paid plus account I still do not have a “Personalization” section and still have no “Memory” settings?

Same problem. :frowning:
Did you fix it?

No, unfortunately.
Seems that it depends on a user’s region.
And it looks like there are first sort regions and others, the second sort.
If so - then I suppose it is disrespectful and offensive.

I can try to explain by quoting the blog post regarding the memory feature:

We are rolling out to a small portion of ChatGPT free and Plus users this week to learn how useful it is. We will share plans for broader roll out soon.

Also hoping to hear more soon. This could be fantastic for project work.

@paveltrojak , @vb
Can’t you believe in it?
Today I have got the memory settings finally.
Thanks to all!

This was posted on Twitter by OpenAI:

Memory is now available to all ChatGPT Plus users. Using Memory is easy: just start a new chat and tell ChatGPT anything you’d like it to remember.

Memory can be turned on or off in settings and is not currently available in Europe or Korea. Team, Enterprise, and GPTs to come.

“Memory is now available to all ChatGPT Plus users.

Memory … is not currently available in Europe or Korea.”

Do they understand themselves, what they post?
I’m in Europe, and I’ve got the memory recently.

The tweets from the official OpenAI accounts go through a whole cascade of checks and double checks before ‘approval’.
But there’s still potential to the upside, I guess.
I am located in Europe by the way.

I STILL don’t have personalization/memory, and I’m in the US!

Hi, I had it and now it’s gone (from Spain). Do you still have it working?

I am in the UK - same issue.
The feature appeared a few weeks ago, and now it’s disappeared.
the whole “personalization” menu in settings has disappeared.

I’m from Ukraine. Still have it, luckily.
I hope they return it to all of you soon too.

Do people from OpenAi actually participate and respond to questions on here?

I’m in the US and i have never had the memory feature available, i tried on desktop osx app, desktop web, and ios mobile app. I’ve been a plus subscriber for a long time. Very confused as to why I don’t have the memory feature visible anywhere.

Make sure your VPN is off. I had mines on, and the feature was not there, but as soon as I turned it off, there it was.

Subject: Issue with ChatGPT’s Memory Function

Dear OpenAI Team,

I am writing to report a serious issue with the new Memory function in ChatGPT.

About a month and a half ago, I activated the Memory function using a VPN connection to an American server, following all the procedures indicated for personalizing the program. I started to record important information for my work day by day. However, after about fifteen days, I noticed that the memory was completely erased, except for my birth date.

I thought this issue might be due to the release of the new GPT-4.0 version, considering there might have been server reconfigurations. I then started to re-enter all the information, partially recovering it from previous conversations, and adding new details.

Unfortunately, this morning, June first, I found once again that the memory was completely erased, keeping only my birth date. This problem makes the Memory function unreliable and unusable, causing a significant loss of time and crucial information for my work.

Imagine if a similar issue occurred on a computer, database, or server: the data loss would be unacceptable. I kindly ask you to investigate and resolve this problem as soon as possible so that the Memory function can be used with confidence and security.

I remain available to provide further details or clarifications if necessary.

Best regards,

Carlo Lambiase

I am from the UK with a Plus plan and I don’t have the personalization section at all.

Hi
I’m also in the UK with a Plus plan. For me this seems to be a device (or processor) specific issue. I can’t see the dots against my account on my 2020 Intel iMac. I also can’t run the GhatGPT desktop app for that matter. However, when logged into the iPad OS app on a Ipad Pro 2024, I have full access. If you can it may be worth logging into you account on a different device if you have one. Good luck!

Update: Easy fix, I switched from Chrome to Safari and it was sorted

Also in the UK and Plus plan and still don’t have the memory options. Been waiting a while now and yet they just announced with the release of 4o that it’s now available for free users? #muggedoff
