I’ve encountered an issue with OpenAI’s billing system that might be a bug. Here’s what happened:
• My account had $83 in available credit.
• The Auto-Recharge feature is disabled.
• Despite this, Stripe processed a $100 charge yesterday and issued an invoice for that amount.
• The available credit is still $83, meaning the charge hasn’t been reflected in the balance.
Additionally, there are no recent usage charges on my account. I haven’t been using the API this month, so there shouldn’t be any pending costs that would trigger an Auto-Recharge. In any case, since the Auto-Recharge is explicitly disabled, the system shouldn’t process any payments automatically.
This seems like unexpected behavior. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? Could the support team please look into this as it might be a bug?
