I am having problems with the image generator on ChatGPT Plus. I’ve been unable to get any images the past four days even though I am a subscriber. I’ve tried in vain sorting it out. I was told it is a system wide problem, but the status checker says all is fine.

Welcome to the forum. Is it a custom? Make sure Dalle is on in configure in the GPT creation settings. Bottom left corner.
Did you mean to post this in API? it probably fits better in community with GPT tags. 
The settings shown in the reply above are for a GPT that one can make. A GPT builder can choose whether their GPT application will have image creation enabled.
However, you do not need to create a GPT in order to produce AI images – nor do you need a GPT to have disabled DALL-E.
The most likely culprit is under your ChatGPT user settings, “Customize ChatGPT”.
Located there, besides two text boxes for behavior, at the bottom there are checkboxes to enable/disable browsing, code interpreter … and disable DALL-E.
Also ensure use of a model like gpt-4o that supports sending to DALL-E, not an o1 reasoning model.
You can leap right to OpenAI’s own GPT for creating images with other tools disabled, where custom instructions and your settings are not used and the model is auto-selected.

Ty @_j i never mess much with standard GPT I keep memory and all that stuff off. I so forgot the standard has 1200 characters for instructions and tool control 
I went into it it seems to have changed the only Dalle controls I can find are in create I can’t find them for a standard instance. It used to be in settings IIRR? Looks like it got raised to 1500 since last I looked or I remember the 1200 wrong 
It’s not in the 4o user settings either.
On my end it looks like they removed user controls for Dalle web etc for standard instances of 4o and it’s siblings
Apologies if I am on the wrong forum! FYI, the problem was solved by going onto a new thread!

You’re in the right place. When you create a post here, you have the option of selecting API or ChatGPT as category, or others, so the category was changed for you to reflect the topic.
After a hard refresh to get any code changes, I still have the selection boxes (one might need to scroll down on 1080p or below):
These feature settings indeed might not take effect until you start a new chat session.

No worries I was just pointing it out. I was horrible at tags when I started ,staff and members were always kind helping me move my topics as needed, you should also checkout the 
posts at the start of each category too that explains what they are, you can also do sub-prompts like GPT4 etc up to 5.
