So I was doing what I usually do just some creative writting I have done it before and its never been an issue. When it started doing this. and it also refuses to generate images. Is something going on is someone else dealing with these issues?
1: it is possible to disable DALL-E in “customize ChatGPT”. There’s some checkboxes under “advanced” that can be forgotten about if you have that enabled.
2: There are models in ChatGPT that cannot use tools such as dalle. It might report the tool is not available or that it doesn’t have the ability, or just make up some text for you. I would regenerate the “cat” response by selecting “gpt-4o” as the model with the drop-down.
3: GPTs that you select also can have DALL-E enabled or disabled by the GPT creator.
4: tell the AI more about what it actually must do, to ensure it knows how to do it: “send a prompt to your dalle internal tool that will generate an AI image of a cat astronaut on the moon”
5: free ChatGPT accounts have 3 images per day or so before the function is shut off, just as a tease to get you to upgrade.
6: in general, tell the AI what you want it to produce as a response. It is a language generator, and giving it a story that you wrote without any instructions is going to be a big “huh?”.
I tried everything you suggest with image generation. Made sure it was enabled got specific. And it still said it couldn’t generate images. Also I forgot to mention in the post I have Plus sorry. And I have used this exact prompt a few times before I tried adding more specifics and I got the same respons. And yes these are all well using 4o.
