I want to start an enterprise software company that develops AI music generation software aimed at marketing departments

Hey everyone,

As the title states, I’m wanting to start an enterprise software company to build a simple and intuitive AI text-to-music app aimed at social media marketing departments.

Looking for any interested people who want to contribute to this project either on a one-off basis or as a co-founder/partner (equal splits/responsibilities). Or anyone who simply wants to follow along with this project.

Why This Idea?

During my tenure as a copywriter at Australia’s largest eCommerce company, I frequently overheard ad creatives and video editors lamenting the scarcity of quality paid and royalty-free music. The available options often fell short of their expectations, failing to align with the brand’s identity or the specific campaign’s tone.

Intrigued, I reached out to social media managers and department workers from various companies and industries via LinkedIn, only to discover that this issue was not unique to my company. All five social media marketing departments I contacted echoed a similar sentiment, indicating a clear gap in the market.

Market Potential

According to a report by Grand View Research, the global AI in music market size was valued at USD 2.5 billion in 2020 and is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 26.2% from 2021 to 2028.

Now of course, figures and stats at this stage are kind of “whatever” as generative Ai, especially when it comes to music, is an emerging field. Take these figures with a grain of salt.

Competitors

One of the key players in the AI music generation market is Beathoven.AI. Beathoven.AI is a popular AI music generator that creates high-quality music for videos and other content. It uses machine learning to analyze content, generate music samples, and create new compositions. Other competitors in this space include AIVA (Artificial Intelligence Virtual Artist), an AI music composer that creates scores for films, games, and other media, and Mubert, an AI-powered music streaming service that generates and streams music in real-time.

As far as I can see, none of these apps use a “text-to-audio” workflow. This could be a good thing, could also mean that this implementation is impossible at this stage…

Who Am I?

My name is Brody.

I’m a 27-year-old seasoned digital marketer with four years of experience based in Melbourne, Australia. I also have a background in web development and psychology. I like to think my unique blend of skills and interests allows me to approach problems from multiple angles and makes me more likely to aggressively experiment to find new solutions.

In addition to my marketing and tech experience, I happen to be a musician, songwriter, and music producer with 13 years of experience. I have many working contacts in the industry ranging from session musicians, producers, A&R management and artist managers.

For full transparency’s sake, the contacts I have in the industry definitely aren’t “big names”, but they are working professionals who I’ve nurtured connections with over many years and given the nature of this project, could serve as invaluable testers or people who could simply help generate interest and momentum for this project within the industry.

Over the years, I’ve also honed my skills in creating mockups, designing user-friendly interfaces, and strategising effective marketing campaigns for different personal and professional projects. I’m now eager to leverage my experience, insights and passion for music and technology to solve this problem and hopefully create a sophisticated product that the team can be proud of.

Current Expendable Resources

Aside from industry connections and my own experience, I’m willing to stake upwards of 10k in personal funds to get the ball rolling (however that looks in this context). I’ve also applied for my universities “founder accelerator program” which starts this September: FounderHUB - RMIT University

The state library of Victoria also has an early-stage founder support program which I am a member of and regularly attend events at: StartSpace HQ – Powered by State Library Victoria
