I have been trying to use the API, but I keep getting the following error: You exceeded your current quota, please check your plan and billing details.
I have $15 in my account. I do not have a GPT-4 subscription, but I was told that I don’t need one to work with the API.
I live in Egypt, if that is relevant to the information.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Having the same issue. I noticed two hours ago that I have negative credit balance, so I put more and still getting “You exceeded your current quota, please check your plan and billing details.”
Upd: Account is on 5 usage tier, credit balance is positive for several hours and we didn’t do anything close to hitting the limit
same issue even i paid the 5 dollar credits still unable to make my first api request error 429 quota exceeded, is it something that i have to wait for 48 hours after making the payment?
Same issue here in Finland. Thought I was going crazy. Nothing I did resolves the issue. No usage 5 bucks on the account, I have done multiple different test scripts to test it. Nothing works.

I have made new api keys, tried every possible work around. Nope. It is broke overseas I guess?
I have the same issue, and nothing works (adding more money, updating all billing info, updating threshold and budget). What else can I do to debug this??
no guys, I think that its not needed to wait 48 hours before having everything to work. Personally I’ve created the api kei and top up my balance all yesterday and I’ve got everything working since then. Please make sure to follow the quickstart really well. For me it has to be something with the api key variable and/or your api request.
I have the same issue. The account is 1 month old, I’ve upgrade tot Tier 2, I’ve added credit to the account and I still get this error. I’ve also reached out to support for help but all I get is some generic replies and hour long reply waiting time. I’ve been trying to solve this issue for 8h by now.
