I had just created and tested a new GPT with like a 10 mb knowledgebase of word documents. I tested it out for awhile and it was working great. I went to share it with a coworker and when he started to use it, the GPT no longer worked and was saying it couldn’t find the answers it easily found for me hours before. If i upload the file in my direct chat it can still give me the answers it is only when the file is in the GPT knowledgebase.
Maybe somethng happened like this topic:
Appreciate the response but i have all of those checked. DO you think I should uncheck any of them?
If you need tools, you should make enable them. And if you want to analyze the knowledge base or uploaded files in chat, you should make enable Data Analysis especially. However, if you don’t need web search, you should make disable web search because generally it searches web and forgot to read files. And repeats same things.
Also, look at if the knowledge base files if they are still there. Bacuse I shared the topic says many GPTs files are deleted without consent of GPT Builder.
According to the GPT status page, it appears to be an API files error, which seems to be under resolution. Unfortunately, I have the same issue.
Yeah my knowledge base files are still there. I made sure data analysis interpreter was checked, and made sure to uncheck web search and image generation. Still not working. It’s funny cause it acts like its reading from the file base then tells me it can’t find the answer.
If it is public GPT can you share link? Maybe you need to modify the instruction.
I am sorry I can’t it is proprietary to our Team’s workspace. But none of my GPTs are working in the sense of knowledge base files. This leads me to believe it is an Openai issue.
I see. I didn’t realize the knowledge base for GPTs was affected by the API.
Thanks for sharing.
I seem to be experiencing the same issues. The ChatGPT app on Android isn’t functioning properly: my chats won’t load, the generated texts are inconsistent, don’t follow instructions, and often respond off-topic. On top of that, it sometimes refuses to generate responses, saying I’ve exceeded a limit—even though my subscription is unlimited. Version 4.5 produces even less relevant responses, completely off the mark, and the files added to my knowledge base are no longer being recognized.
This is a test purpose GPT, it has two files:
I see it is working. You may test it.
Hey thank you so much for your help. Here is what worked for me. I actually took my directions text and rewrote it in a clearer AI friendly way (Simple and clear message). And this worked for me I am able to get the proper answers like before. Again thank you so much hopefully we can help anyone else with this issue.
Yeah it is very annoying that Openai never acknowledges these issues. Like there is nothing about this other than on forums.
