Hey there, Chat GPT-4o tells me repeatedly “I can’t access or read files directly. If you share the content or key points, I can help summarize or interpret it!”
I can not get it to read any file. What should I do?
I having same issue, can’t analyze PDF files, although I am using the paid version, it is the problem with GPT-4o nad GPT-4

I’m haveing the same problem. It refuses to use OCR to recognize text in scanned PDF’s. If it works it sometime lies about the content because it can’t read the file.
This worked on Copilot until this week where it began giving the same problem.

Same problem here. Gpt 4o paid sub cannot open or analyze any file format I have tried (xlsx, docx, txt, csv) despite it displaying data from excel files on screen after upload, it still says it cannot open the file.
I still have this issue 22 days later, there is however one conversation in which chatgpt can read files ??.

Chat GPT-4o tells me "I currently don’t have the ability to access or view uploaded files directly. However, I can guide you step by step on how to process the data in your file. "
I used the upload button and upload my files, and I can read the files I uploaded to Gpt 4o, but Gpt-4o tells me repeatedly:
"It seems like I don’t have the ability to directly access uploaded files. "
