Is Anyone Else Facing This Issue with ChatGPT Plus?
I’ve been trying to upload and read PDF files using my ChatGPT Plus account, but it’s not working as expected. The PDF upload seems fine, but ChatGPT either doesn’t process the content or gives no meaningful output. I wanted to check if anyone else is facing the same issue.
Is this a general bug, or is there a solution/workaround for this? Would appreciate any insights or help!
You are not alone. I discovered this issue about two days ago and thought it was no more than a short-time bug. Yet it still didn’t get recovered .
I suspect OpenAI is switching to lesser models when their service is overloaded. This results in loss of tool access (including file analysis, iamge gen, search, etc.) and reduced performance, especially for o1-pro. Many users have reported similar issues. It seems like a load-balancing strategy, but it’s frustrating because OpenAI isn’t transparent about it. The sudden drop in service quality feels deceptive. If they need to implement restrictions, they should be upfront with users.
