[Updated : July 2024 ] Same thing LOL, Even if you logged in the google account it was supposed to work with the associated Google Account (Email) but unfortunately it doesn’t work and we are not receiving the email, I hope it will work in the future and it the customer support will acknowledge that. I will try to get in touch folks and I will post the feedback.
It’s august 2024 and this also happened to me. Maybe they could tell you that you can just enter with your google account instead of telling you that an email has been sent when that does not happen.

Suddenly I was forced out and it said my password wasn’t correct I clicked in ‘forget password’ and nothing was emailed.
Did you create your account with your email and creating a password or did you sign up autorizing with your email provider app?
I clicked “Forgot Password” on ChatGPT, and the webpage said I would receive an email to reset my password, but despite trying multiple times, I still haven’t received the email.
I use my company’s email and password as my main login method, without using Google or any other authentication options.
Has anyone else encountered a similar issue? Since I can only log in with my company email and password, do I just have to wait for the reset email to arrive? Or is there another way to resolve this?
Saludos, si has creado la cuenta a través de tu correo de Google, por ejemplo, es la misma contraseña que usas en tu correo electrónico. Si no la recuerdas puedes intentar reestablecerla des de tu correo para tener acceso a chatGPT.
