When I am trying to use the api key on a website that uses gpt-3-5-turbo it says: “insufficient_quota - You exceeded your current quota, please check your plan and billing details.” while I am nowhere near the limit and have plenty of money on my account. Anybody knows what is wrong?
You’ve likely been hit by a bug numerous others have gotten, where they can’t spend all their credits that have been purchased in the new prepayment system.
The chatbot will respond itself if you mention “quota” in the help.openai.com assistant, so instead have your message reflect account prepayment credit problems.
what do you mean? Can you explain it in more simpler terms?
The payment system where you purchase credits with your credit card has had problems since introduction, with many soon after not able to spend their credit, getting the same error.
The only chance for support on your account is to use the official help assistant linked above; this forum is just fellow users.
Confusingly, this is also the error that someone would get if they hit their own hard limit setting or monthly usage limit (which still exists), or had never input a payment method.
Hi there. Yes I’m aware these are just regular users. Just didn’t know if anyone had been contacted yet to know if they’re aware of the bug yet, which is why I asked. I have already reached out to support. And yes agreed, it’s strange that it brings up that error.
A few questions for you:
- Is your account under 48 hours old?
- Have you added a credit card to your account, to convert it from a pre pay to a post pay?
- Do you have more than one organisation on your account?
