Yes this is the case. I can understand where you are coming from and understand your frustration. But please at least put your post in the right category. This would be either ChatGPT or feedback but “General API discussion” does not fit so good. Also this might increase the chance to get noticed by OpenAI Staff.
When OpenAI first released ChatGPT in November 2022 it was only as a “free research preview.” There was no mechanism in place at that time to accept payments other than through the pay-as-you-go API service.
my account just got deactivated. i contacted the openai support but i have to wait up to 3 days for an answer. i really need to get it back asap. on help.openai.com there’s nothing that can be helpful once the account is blocked, the only thing written is that i have to contact the support. my entire ip address seems to be locked, because i can’t log in with other accounts nor create a new one. anything that i can do while i wait for support to get back at me?
You might want to review “supported countries”. Connections, API Requests or banking payments coming from anything not in the list are now on high alert.
It will take intervention from OpenAI staff through “help” to fix anything about an account.
