Custom GPTs: SOME Knowledge files was lost

This is weird!
I have created 4 GPTs for a client.
3 those have deleted the knowledge files, 1 of those is still showing them.

The knowledge files:

  • they were OCRs of technical documents about elevators, nothing against guidelines.
  • They were created using Vision, to “describe” electric circuits and diagrams.
  • They were about 250-300 Kilobytes each, made of pure text.

I haven’t got any notification of issues from openai.

Even some of OpenAI’s GPTs and other builders’ GPTs not functional.

This is an inherent problem with GPTs, in terms of how do you perform automated regression tests that you can run e.g. after system recovery. When you have an API based solution it’s significantly easier.

What was the problem? All my GPTs’ knowledge files have disappeared.

Back then, when this thread had appeared, OpenAI had problems with some parts of their infrastructure. BUT, since yours seemed to happen only 3 days ago - I assume that because it shows to me you wrote this message 3 days ago…

It could have been when you’ve updated your GPT you actually uploaded wrong files or deleted files, did you?

Or maybe, which may not have been the case, probably they had another glitch going on on OpenAI’s side? This time I don’t know. At least not, yet.

I discovered the issue a couple of weeks ago. But it likely dates to the event you’re describing.
