Custom GPTs has some problems

Here are the problems I have identified.

  • GPTs do not read system prompts (instructions)
    The new GPT-4o, released on January 29th, ignores system prompt instructions in the first answer of a session.

  • Disappearance of Knowledge files
    Some Custom GPTs had their Knowledge files disappear. Even after re-uploading, the files disappear again. However, some GPTs are unaffected.
    (Creating a new GPT doesn’t seem to cause this problem, so it may be an error in the old filesystem. Recreating GPT resets URLs and ratings, so I hope OpenAI will solve the problem at its root.)

  • Appearance of “Additional Settings”
    When a new file is uploaded to Custom GPTs where the Knowledge files have disappeared, a setting option called “Additional Settings” appears. This setting is not normally visible. I don’t know what this setting is.

  • Capabilities options are unchecked
    Some Custom GPTs that previously had their Capabilities options checked were found to have been automatically unchecked.

If anyone knows of any solutions or workarounds, I would greatly appreciate your guidance. I kindly ask OpenAI to address this issue as well.

Same symptoms.
We can’t notice that the knowledge file is missing unless we are on the edit screen.

[Countermeasure]

  1. Leave the editing screen open on the web to confirm that the file is there,
  2. Use the PC version of the application.

This allows us to use My GPT, where the knowledge file is uploaded, and the history is kept.

upload → new window —> refresh and test.
thats how i do.

Thank you for your advice. I tried it but it didn’t work.

We cannot stop files from disappearing.

We can only use MyGPT, making sure the files are there each time.
