Yes, I’m having the same issue. This looks like the same issue described in the following posts:
Issue: Experiencing loss of ChatGPT’s responses when I log back into the system to continue the chat. The previous response has dissapeared and sometimes I am left with the option to Regenerate the response.
Steps to Reproduce: I have rgenerated the response several times, received an answer, logged out and back in again to the same chat and the response is gone or requests I regenerate.
Expected Behaviour: I would expect the previous response to remain visible and accessible without the need …
This is a bug in the ChatGPT frontend web app on the OpenAI website, not the API, so I hope this is the right place to report this.
Nearly every single day for the last few weeks now, when I open up ChatGPT, its last response is missing and instead I see the ‘There was an error generating a response’ message with the “Regenerate” button. But there was no error generating a response. It was there yesterday, and now it’s gone. I’ve tried logging out and logging back in. I’ve opened up the iOS app…
Using ChatGPT+.
I honestly don’t know if this is a new ‘feature’ or just a bug.
I was having a great time today with ChatGPT and it answered my prompts and everything. After about 5 prompts I scrolled back up to refer to the earlier answers, and it ‘disappeared’.
The first prompt was merged with the second prompt and it only showed the answer for the 2nd prompt. The first prompt’s answer disappeared!
Wtf, the answer was great and now it has disappeared… forcing me to ask the same prompt/qu…
Prompts will fail to generate and save response. Then it will cause me to have to reload the page or else, if I keep going it will just simply fuse prompts together. It wastes my tokens. Not sure why this hasn’t been fixed ye. it seems to be a common enough problem.
Over the past day’s I’ve encountered some strange behavior with the gpt-4 model. For unknown reasons separate prompts seem to merge, into a singular one after a while. Leading to essentially the entire conversation thread being merged into a mega prompt, that necessitates to delete the entire conversation and restart. As no responses can be generated from that one, nor can it be edited.
Oddly enough, this seems to only persist on PC based browsers, as my phone gpt app remains unaffected.
This happened around the same time to a few of my ChatGPT4 conversations. GPT responses are disappearing. I looked at the response from the conversation api, and it just shows my message, and then my next message, and no GPT response. Additionally, whenever that happens, I’m no longer able to edit the conversations that are next to each other.
Anyone else experience this?
Example (without bug):
User: Give me an idea for a bug-eating machine.
ChatGPT: How about the Supreme Bugeater 3600? etc etc
User: Tell me more!
ChatGPT: It also has a love for crunching on walnuts. Easy on the walnuts!
Example (with bug):
User: Give me an idea for a bug-eating machine.
ChatGPT: How about the Supreme Bugeater 3600? etc etc
User: Tell me more!
ChatGPT: Let’s do the Amazing BugEater! etc etc. It also has a feature where it eats cake!
(interperets it as:
Give me an idea …
Notably, though, none of these posts have a solution (other than refreshing and generating a new response), nor any reports of the problem being resolved. Anecdotally, I’ve been seeing this issue (intermittently) for about a month, but some of these posts go back a little further than that.
EDIT: Updated 3/19/24 to add another post about this issue to the list.
