ChatGPT doesn't do anything after pressing Enter or clicking Submit button

For some weeks ChatGPT doesn’t do anything when I type a message and press Enter or click on the submit button. My message just disappears. The error occured no matter the selected model.

Yesterday I noticed that somehow ChatGPT 3.5 is working again. But ChatGPT 4 and ChatGPT Plugins still do not work.

I already tried different browsers, restart browser/computer, delete cache and cookies and check for browser/system updates.

Has anyone an idea how I could fix this?

Hi, Do you manage to fix this issue? I am having the same problem. Typing a question and when I press the send button, nothing happened and chat Gpt not answering.

Mine started doing this today. Coincidence that Windows 10 updated half a hour a ago?

same here man cant do any work it eventually works but it takes like 10 times press to submit and it works so slow

yes but if you spam the button, you get “You’ve reached your GPT-4o limit.”
This needs to be fixed

I removed KB5039211 security update, and everything works again. I’m not 100% sure if the update is to blame, but it’s a strange coincidence.

what is the KB5039211 update? I have MacBook Air and getting same issue. I click send and it goes grey but nothing happens. chat gpt on phone works fine. this is ChatGPT 4.0 and the problem seems to have started when I upgraded phone app to paid plan?

I started recently having this problem, but if I simply refresh the browser the issue goes away.

With that said, it is extremely annoying to constantly have to refresh my browser when this bug decides to surface.

I am having the same issues. The chat works only after refreshing the browser; sometimes, it takes multiple refreshes. After refreshing the browser, I also noticed that the chat doesn’t remember the prior chat from the same thread. It’s like its memory is completely wiped.

I just upgraded, and now nothing works. When I enter some text and press return, nothing happens—it just hangs.
