I recently installed ChatGPT Desktop (version 1.2024.163) on my Mac Mini M1 running macOS 14.5. However, upon launching the app, I’m prompted to sign in.
Regardless of which button I click, I receive an error message stating “Sign in failed - Couldn’t communicate with a helper application.”
Can you advise on how to resolve this issue?

RESOLVED. To correct this issue I simply quit (well, force-quit) ChatGPT then deleted the com.openai.chat folder found here: ~/Library/Application Support
To help others searching for answers to this problem, another symptom I had was that ChatGPT app would not quit. Had to Force Quit it every time.
Guess they’ve vibecoded the client!
