I literally can’t view OLD chats or archived chats anymore because you can’t scroll them, they have a MAX LIMIT now and even with add-on extensions from the store - chatgpt rate-limits you perma and you lose access to chats from several months ago! I have no way to find it because I don’t have photographic memories for chats that long ago BUT I MIGHT have critical info or want to re-read them again.
Hi, before completely giving up, I would try this. I know it’s generic but it might help. I’d close all ChatGPT tabs for at least an hour, let it cool down. Then, via fresh guest window, I would log in and try just that chat. Let me know if you have questions
I cannot remember the 500+ chats… do you understand I want to browse my chats like gmails and not have to wait 3-5 minutes to scroll down once to see more chats or get rate-limited… and I got STOPPED hard at the oldest chat I can retrieve. I want to see them in chronological order.
Hi @Yukime! Yeah, I can see how this gets frustrating when older chats stop loading after you scroll back far enough.
When you get a chance, you could try the workaround @krasnik suggested: close your ChatGPT tabs, then open a fresh guest window, sign in, and check whether you're able to access the older chats.
I’ve seen similar reports, and the additional details you shared are helpful for understanding the issue better. I’ve passed this feedback along internally, though I can’t provide a timeline for when or whether changes will be made.
I can confirm that this is still an issue for me. None of the workarounds have worked: updating, restarting, logging out and leaving the system alone. Even the mobile app no longer displays all the conversations. So recents/conversation history is not working on the website through Chrome, the desktop app on macOS, or the mobile app on iPhone. I agree with the above, I would just like to be able to scroll through my conversation history instead of relying on poor memory to remember a detail that might exist in the conversation I am trying to find.
Hi @tamaradenmeade, thanks for confirming this is still happening and for sharing that you’re seeing it across Chrome, the macOS desktop app, and the iPhone app.
Since the earlier troubleshooting steps didn’t help, could you please open a Support case and include the exact timestamp (with timezone) when you reproduce the issue, along with a HAR file captured during the repro? You can follow the Steps to Capture HAR file here.
Once you have the Support case number, feel free to share just that case number here so I can review the details and take a closer look.
