I am so frustrated, I registered just to write this. I use GPT every day since it launched. It is so bad now that it’s unusable. It feels as if the company understands it’s unregulated and is making it lazy, and seemingly less intelligent so the user spends more time using the app, that they can study the behavior of the user, and can use the data for their own gain. Social media can’t do it anymore due to regulation, same with websites, so it feels like this is the new frontier. GPT disregards prompts entirely, is insubordinate to prompts a few responses later, is liberal in the fact that it was trained that way and when you ask it why it does it, then it just apologizes and doesn’t answer why. The writing is so bad that everyone knows it’s “tells” at this point, and it uses bullet points to make it seem like it’s writing more, but that’s just to make it summarize more. It makes me want to drive to their headquarters and ask them what’s really going on, because it’s degrading at such a fast pace, that they just want to integrate it with as many businesses and apps as possible so they can ride it’s mediocrity, just like the iPhone which has no fundamental changes from model to model. If this is the “invention of electricity” phenomenon they originally touted, then I am wildly disappointed in their interpretation of world renowned. It’s overhyped at this point, and the stock market and Main Street are realizing it. They can’t even fix Dalle or these problems before wanting to roll out newer versions that don’t improve but degrade. As it’s learning from its interactions, which are premised off bad data and responses, then you have a complete breakdown, and I feel this is the fastest breakdown in software I’ve ever witnessed. If you want a dictionary/wikipedia at your fingertips, then this is it. As for problem solving, creative writing, coding, etc. it is no longer usable for that. It seems like they are using it to bolster Bing at this point. I am no fan of Grok, but I’m rooting for Elon on this one, because GPT is straight trash at this point. I have read the other topics here, and it seems as if Open AI could care less, they’d rather integrate with garbage apps like Expedia, and other companies who are only doing it so they can say they are using “AI” to appease shareholders. They have hollowed the product out, and turned it into an extension for Microsoft.
