I want to, but i have a vpn app (tunnelblick) that uses a legacy MacOS rescource.
If only they spoke on this topic. They should’ve been very clear from the start. They have wasted our time.
got the offer but I have an intel mac and it is apple silicon only. I will try later on the laptop
Probably has to be Apple Silicon because it’s going to leverage the AI neural cores. Which is really cool!
I work in the dev world. I highly recommend you do not use that link to download the app because the risks are not worth being impatient:
- You could accidentally click a spam link and download a virus
- Even if the link is correct now, it may not be later
OpenAI will release the proper download link and access when it is ready. They have a track record for hyping something that is not quite ready to roll out but they also tend to deliver.
Photo is the result of using the “real” link
How do we know that’s a valid, authentic link? Who is OAIStatic.com?
I hope they provide more voices. The ones now are
I’m generally suspicious but can you explain why that’s a t[dot]co URL behind your link?
Good question! This is a redirect to download it.
I think it’s not avaliable now
I got it to load on the Intel chip.
- you’ll get a download link on the webbased ChatGPT inside your account - i finally got mine last night… (usa time)
- download the version of the app for Intel, not M chips (look around on this OpenAI community, someone posted it.
- over ride the security warning that this is an app by an unknown developer (apple not being very friendly to their new partner?)
- open up the app - it’s on my desktop, even asked it about this screen and it replied with instructions on battling this sketchy rollout
Can anyone share what the download notification looks like in the chatgpt web portal
Where in the webbased ChatGPT did you see it? In the menu bar or as a popup?
What is your mac system specifications?
Mine keep on asking to upgrade!
Hey everyone where is official source to track in Mac OS app is released?
For those who still don’t have access to the app: did you subscribe to the premium version directly through OpenAI or via the Apple App Store? I still don’t have access either, and my premium subscription is through the Apple App Store. Could this be related?
Really interesting OpenAI is choosing to roll the app out this way, rather than through AppStore.app If I was them I’d want to clean up all this BS immediately
It has nothing to do. I am subscribed through their website and still nothing.
