It’s really hard to get or find support anywhere, so I thought to reach out here. I would prefer to pay by PayPal and not Credit Card option because of being scammed before and data breaches from even well established websites.
Is there any way to work around paying credit card and if you have payed by credit card - has it been trustworthy so far?
I really want to a pro plan but the payment system is a bit of block.

Currently PayPal is not used as payment system, and OpenAI does not support alternate payment options.
I think (not sure), PayPal might not be used because there are strict rules about who can use it, especially in other countries.
Credit cards make it easier to follow these rules and check where people are.
I understand your concern about credit card security. But, I know OpenAI takes credit card security seriously and has strong protections in place to keep user data safe. Their API, ChatGPT Enterprise, ChatGPT Team, and ChatGPT Edu products are included in their SOC 2 Type 2 report.
This report is done by an independent auditor to check that OpenAI meets industry standards for security and confidentiality.
OpenAI’s ChatGPT products and API are listed in the CSA STAR Level 1 registry, meeting key standards for transparency and cloud security.
Credit card payments are processed and secured by Stripe—OpenAI doesn’t touch or store any of the card details. I’m biased, but I think it’s the most secure card processor out there (its direct platform runs the card token straight through card network), and has not had any breaches of customer credit card information to date.
I’d really love having Paypal as an Payment option, as young adult i just see no sense or logic in a credit card… sadly I’ll need to pass on the + models that way
Here in germany the majority doesn’t use credit cards as we can pay with our bank cards electronically everywhere. I need to pay with either iban or a service like paypal. You are blocking out a vast amount of users world wide from getting chatgpt plus by only allowing credit cards.
Credit Cards are just a US thing in the rest of the world nobody cares about them. In my circle we call them boomer cards as we saw our parents use them solely as a status symbol then get in debt and struggle paying back what they owed. Thus my generation don’t touch them. Neither me nor my friends have plans to ever get a credit card.

I read some people trying to work around it using Paypal with Google Pay, but I think that was in the past maybe in earlier access.
From your experience, if you had any issue with payments or had issues with anything, did the chatGPT service help you, was it easy to get in contact with them, or did you run into trouble?
