Business Workspace Deactivated — 48-Month Promo Plan, Payment Current, No Warning — Reactivation Forces New Purchase

Hi OpenAI Support team,

My ChatGPT Business workspace was suddenly deactivated around June 25-24, 2026, with no email notification and no reason given.

My account details:

  • Plan: ChatGPT Business, 2 seats, 48-month promotional plan
  • Region: Australia
  • Last auto-renewal: June 17, 2026 — payment was SUCCESSFUL
  • No seat changes, no failed payments, no usage policy violations

When I try to reactivate the workspace:

  • The reactivation button takes me to a NEW PURCHASE flow instead of restoring my existing paid subscription
  • Codex returns: 402 Payment Required, code “deactivated_workspace”
  • Request ID: 7a786652-27f4-40a6-bef4-15cda5317385
  • CF Ray: a111ca40bf27e356-NRT

This appears to be the SAME billing backend corruption affecting multiple Business workspaces since mid-June (see threads 1384396, 1383994, 1384578). This is NOT a bank/payment method issue — the payment went through successfully.

What I need:

  1. Restore the existing 48-month promotional subscription (NOT a new purchase)
  2. A billing engineer to fix the corrupted workspace billing state
  3. Confirmation that my workspace data and promo pricing will be preserved

Is your workspace reactivated now?

Not yet. OpenAI emailed me — it was a billing incident on June 25, they canceled my subscription in error. But the reactivation flow would kill my 48-month promo pricing, so I’m waiting for them to confirm I can keep the original rate before I reactivate.

I have the same problem, they keep saying I should reactive the workspace by my own : (
