I don’t know what else do to beside asking for this here.
Many weeks ago we’ve been able to get a grant from Microsoft to get promotional credits to test OpenAI API for our startup.
However, after filling their form we haven’t been in contact with anybody. (OpenAI)
A Microsoft employee told us to open a chat (here in OpenAI) and that they will require more info but they will be able to concess the API usage.
We opened a chat support bot but have been without a single response from a human for more than a week. A friend of mine has been waiting for like 3 weeks also on this step.
Did you get Azure credits for OpenAI APIs?
If yes go → Azure portal to create an Azure OpenAI Service resource and get started, they have documentation.
I have not applied for these credits myself, so I am not familiar with all the details, but have you created an OpenAI API account and completed phone number verification?
If not, I suggest proceeding with the phone verification to enable the use of the API key, and then reaching out to support again for further assistance.
Hi - I know this must be frustrating but give it some time for them to get back to you. This issue is not unique to OpenAI. Some other vendors offering credits or free trials via the program also often end up taking longer to respond as they manually have to figure these things.
It is quite unlikely that someone from OpenAI staff will pick this up here. A support message on the chat and a big spoon of patience is really your best option.
As was suggested above, you can instantly redeem your Azure OpenAI credits via the platform. So it really is a good alternative while you are waiting.
I’m sorry I don’t. But I recall I also waited at least 1.5 weeks last year after completing the form until the credits appeared in my OpenAI account. So what you experience is not completely unusual. It’s good that you involved support but even their responses can take some time unfortunately.
Thanks. I know from a fact a friend applied to that same form and didn’t had the credits granted on their account for like 3 months. Then he requested it in the live chat and they granted it.
But since the live chat isn’t really responding might any email work.
It is really frustrating because no one replies to emails and there is no other way to contact them. If Open AI does not want to give credits then why have it started such program?
An API grant from Microsoft for Startups sounds like a fantastic opportunity! They have some great resources and connections that could help you make the most of this grant.
It is a possibility that OpenAI has stopped giving out credits directly via this program. That said, you still can access OpenAI’s models via Azure OpenAI studio using your Azure credits.
