Windows App says it needs to update but Get Download button does nothing

I have been using the ChatGPT windows app for the last couple of weeks. Today I launched it and was presented with the following message:

The “Get Download” button doesn’t do anything when I click on it.

I opened up the Windows Store app and it showed that the ChatGPT app was updated automatically by windows store yesterday. On the ChatGPT page, the button says “Open” and not “Update”. So I’m thinking I have the latest version.

I tried the following:

  • I uninstall the ChatGPT App (via Windows 11 uninstall) and reinstall it (via Windows Store).
  • I reset the Windows Store (wsreset) and uninstalled/reinstalled
  • I ran the ChatGPT App as windows administrator

None of those things helped. I checked my anti-virus logs and didn’t see anything relevant regarding traffic being blocked or otherwise.

What could be the issue?

Just out of curiosity, if you use an anti-virus software, which one do you use?

I have this issue today too and tried everything but still can’t get past the “get download” button :frowning:
