Voice chat listens but doesn't respond

I only got the voice chat function a few days ago but haven’t had any luck it. I have a Samsung Galaxy S23 phone. The voice chat opens and successfully connects to the server, it listens to my voice, the white ball blinks but then never responds. I tried reinstalling, removing and giving access to the microphone, switching between 3.5 and 4.0, usign wifi or mobile network. Nothing works and I don’t know why.

Are you referring to the new voice feature in ChatGPT?

Yes, exactly. I have access to it on the mobile app, but only got it to work one or two times.

I had a call recorder app on my galaxy that blocked the app, check for something like that one yours.

What was that app called? I looked for it in mine and found nothing like it.
There is a system function, from the OS itself, that is called “call recorder” but it’s off, so I don’t think that’s the problem.

I’m a plus user, I used the voice chat function without any problems. It’s been ten days since the problem exactly like the one described in the topic happened. I thought it was a problem with my cell phone, I already tested it on other devices, and nothing worked. It’s an account problem. And the worst thing is also happening in my personal account, which is not a plus, it doesn’t work. And how can openai support resolve this, there is no one to talk to? How can I activate support?

Same here. Voice chat is the primary way I prefer to use the app and it worked fine for months then shortly after I upgraded to the paid account With GPT4 (Which was two or so months ago) it began with this voice chat issue every time I use the voice chat. I will get one response and then I reply with another question and then it just shows listening and does not reply at all. iPhone 15 Pro Btw. I have to manually close/X out of the feature and reenable it to get the ball rolling again. It’s really shitty predicament especially if you’re using the feat for good reason, and your hands are tied up elsewhere. Let me know if anyone finds a solution. I’m about ready to tap out on the subscription because of this lack of functionality/unresolved issue.

I’m having the same issue, and honestly, it’s not my first time dealing with voice-related problems. To you and everyone here, especially those new to this kind of thing: if a bunch of us are talking about the same problem on a forum that OpenAI is obviously keeping an eye on, chances are they’re already all over it and working hard to fix it.

So, let’s not waste too much time trying to find a temporary fix - the only people who can really solve this are the OpenAI devs.

Give. It. Time.
