I would like the goal of the next generation of ChatGPT and Codex to be the creation of the most capable personal AI assistant in the world—not only in answering questions and reasoning, but in actually completing tasks for users across phones, computers, apps, and the internet, with strong security, permissions, privacy, and user control.
I want ChatGPT to become an integrated personal intelligence system across iPhone, Android, web, and computers.
The core idea is:
I define the goal → ChatGPT understands it → plans → selects the appropriate tools and apps → requests the necessary permissions → executes → verifies the result → tells me exactly what it did.
Floating Assistant on iPhone and Android
I would like a fast, system-level ChatGPT assistant that can be invoked from anywhere on iPhone and Android using voice, a button, shortcut, or floating interface where the operating system permits it.
I should be able to speak to ChatGPT while using another application. With explicit screen-access permission, ChatGPT could understand what I am looking at and help me directly.
Instead of explaining ten individual steps, I could simply describe the outcome I want and allow ChatGPT to perform the authorized steps.
Phone and System Control
Through official APIs and cooperation with Apple and Google, I would like ChatGPT to perform supported system actions.
For example, if I say:
“Wake me up at 7:00 AM.”
ChatGPT could set my alarm.
If I say:
“Remind me about this tomorrow.”
It could create the reminder.
If I say:
“Put this appointment on my calendar.”
It could create the event automatically.
It could also work with files, notifications, calendars, contacts, tasks, and other system capabilities that the operating system officially exposes.

I would like an ecosystem of official Connectors and APIs allowing ChatGPT, with user authorization, to interact with services such as:
WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, YouTube, browsers, meeting platforms, productivity software, and other applications.
I want to be able to say:
“Message this person on WhatsApp and tell them I’ll be 30 minutes late.”
ChatGPT could compose the message and send it according to the permission level I selected.
I could also say:
“Check my important messages and handle the ones that need responses.”
ChatGPT could analyze authorized messages, suggest responses, and ask for my approval before sending them when required.
On Facebook and Messenger, when officially supported by Meta, it could assist with messages, comments, posts, and replies.
Permission-Based Control, Not Unlimited Access
I would like an advanced Permission Center where users can independently configure permissions for every application and action.

I would also like ChatGPT to become a powerful real-time call translator.
If someone calls me speaking English, French, Chinese, Japanese, or another language, I would like to hear their speech naturally translated into Arabic with extremely low latency.
ChatGPT should understand Arabic dialects, including Egyptian Arabic.
When I reply in Arabic or Egyptian Arabic, the other person could hear the meaning naturally in their language.
For example:
Japanese speaker → I hear Arabic.
I speak Egyptian Arabic → the Japanese speaker hears Japanese.
The system should preserve meaning, tone, context, and intent as accurately as possible instead of performing simplistic literal translation.
The use of AI-generated or translated speech should be disclosed whenever required by law or the platform.
AI Assistance During Meetings and Conversations
With explicit permission, ChatGPT could listen to a meeting or lecture and understand its context.
If someone asks me a question and I do not know the answer, ChatGPT could immediately display a suggested answer privately on my screen.
Where platforms and laws permit an AI agent to speak on behalf of a user, this should require explicit authorization and appropriate disclosure rather than deceptively impersonating the user.
Lecture Understanding
I would like ChatGPT to listen to an entire lecture with my permission and automatically perform:

Later, I could ask:

It could explain that specific section.
If I say:
“There is a YouTube video called [title].”
ChatGPT could find the intended video using supported access and ask:
“Would you like me to summarize it, explain a particular section, extract the important ideas, or turn it into study material?”
It could then analyze the accessible content and create structured notes containing the summary, key ideas, important timestamps, terminology, questions, and explanations.
Turn Any Content Into a Useful File
I would like to give ChatGPT a video, lecture, collection of files, or project and simply say:
“Create a complete file about this.”
ChatGPT could determine the appropriate format and create a document, PDF, PowerPoint presentation, spreadsheet, report, study guide, or another appropriate artifact.
It should also be able to update that artifact later rather than rebuilding everything from scratch.
A Much More Powerful Codex on Mobile
I would like Codex to become a fundamental part of this system on iPhone, Android, web, and computers.
I should be able to say:
“Build an application based on this idea.”
Codex could transform the idea into a real project:
Understand the idea → Plan → Design the architecture → Create files → Write code → Build the UI → Create the backend when necessary → Run tests → Find bugs → Fix them → Improve the project → Prepare the result.
I would like to manage and continue substantial development projects directly from my phone when practical.
Seamless Phone-to-Computer Continuity
I would like genuine continuity between devices.
I could start a project with ChatGPT on my phone, open my computer later, and continue from exactly where I stopped.
The assistant would understand the project, files, previous decisions, and appropriate permissions without requiring me to explain everything again.
Powerful User-Controlled Memory
I would like ChatGPT to have powerful long-term memory that remains completely under user control.
It could remember projects, workflows, preferences, and persistent instructions that I explicitly allow it to remember.
There should be a dashboard showing what ChatGPT remembers, with controls to edit or delete individual memories.
Voice Identity Protection
If personalized AI voices are supported, I would like a strong Voice Identity Protection system.
After verifying the speaker’s consent, the system could create a privacy-preserving encrypted Voice Identity Fingerprint.
If another account attempts to create a voice that appears to be the same protected person or an extremely close unauthorized clone within OpenAI’s services, the system could detect the risk and require additional verification.
The goal is to make it much harder for someone to take another person’s voice from a video or recording and use it for impersonation.
Voice alone should not be treated as sufficient authentication.
Security could combine:
Voice Identity + Face ID/Touch ID + trusted device + OpenAI account verification + explicit consent.
I would also like OpenAI to explore interoperable standards with other technology companies for protecting voice identity, because preventing unauthorized voice cloning across the entire internet requires cooperation between platforms.

I do not want ChatGPT to be limited to:

I would like it to support:

I could give ChatGPT a task requiring 20, 50, or more steps. The agent could manage the workflow and return to me whenever an important decision, sensitive action, or permission is required.
ChatGPT Identifying Ways to Improve Itself
I would also like OpenAI to explore a safe system that allows ChatGPT and Codex to identify weaknesses and propose improvements.
If evaluations show that a different approach could improve reasoning, coding, tool use, memory, reliability, speed, or efficiency, ChatGPT could generate an internal Improvement Proposal for OpenAI.
I am not suggesting uncontrolled self-modification.
A safer process could be:
Identify weakness → Analyze cause → Propose improvement → Automated evaluation → Safety testing → Compare against current system → OpenAI review → Approval → Deployment → Continuous monitoring.
This could allow AI to contribute ideas toward its own improvement while OpenAI maintains control over what is actually tested and deployed.
Maximum Intelligence With Better Efficiency
I hope future progress will not depend only on making models larger or using more GPUs.
I would like OpenAI to optimize for:

Intelligence per Watt
Intelligence per Second
The system could dynamically select the appropriate model, reasoning budget, and tools for each task.
A simple command such as setting an alarm should not require the most powerful model.
Building an application, conducting deep research, or solving a difficult scientific problem could automatically receive substantially more reasoning, compute, and tools.
Complete Action History and Emergency Stop
I would like a complete Action History showing:
What did ChatGPT do?
When did it do it?
Which application did it access?
Which permission did it use?
What information did it send?
What did it modify?
There should also be a prominent STOP control that immediately stops an active agent and allows the user to revoke permissions at any time.
The Ultimate Goal
I hope OpenAI can work with Apple, Google, Meta, and other developers and platforms to make ChatGPT a secure personal intelligence layer across the digital world.
In the future, I want to be able to simply describe what I want to accomplish.
I should not need to figure out which application to open, which menu to navigate, which button to press, or which sequence of repetitive steps to perform.

ChatGPT understands and plans.
Codex programs and builds.
