I’m shocked, and I also see in the neighboring topic that this issue has been affecting some people for over a month, since November 17. This could be a widespread, persistent problem. Downdetector shows an issue, but it’s not very significant. It should indicate a larger crowd.
It’s frustrating when you’re paying for something and can’t use it, especially with no support available.
I have the same issue. I also tried activating multifactor via a logged in device (that went ok), but the login on the new device continues to request a code (not) sent to my email
I am still facing the same issue, no verification code received. My account is registered with an @icloud.com email and I am not recieving any emails in my inbox nor in my spam folder and unable to log in to use ChatGPT.
EDIT: 8hrs later I just received a bunch of codes…
The email confirmation from OpenAI simply doesn’t work. It says the email has been sent, but that’s not true. I’ve tried from four different browsers. Creating a new account isn’t possible either, as the email never arrives. The same issue occurs with password recovery. I’m surprised that Downdetector isn’t reporting a widespread issue. I have a paid account, which is now unusable because I’m locked out. Unbelievable.
My openai account email is a Gmail account, and i’m only having this issue on an iPad. My guess is this is an issue of the chatgpt app for iOS. Please solve.
I also have been having problems in getting a code via email. Oddly enough, I had set up 2FA using the Google Authenticator, but it chose to ignore that and fall back on sending a code via email. (Allegedly, because I’ve yet to receive such a code. There’s nothing in my spamtrap nor trash.)
Ironically, I use 2FA via the aforementioned Authenticator to access this resource.
