Hi OpenAI Community,
I’m unable to log in to my ChatGPT account.
I normally use “Continue with Google” to sign in. Recently, I was logged out of ChatGPT on both my phone and laptop. When I try to log in again, Google asks me to enter the 6-digit Google Authenticator code. That’s fine.
The problem is that the code from Google Authenticator is always rejected with:
“Incorrect code. Please try again.”
I have already tried the following:
- Checked that my phone’s date and time are set automatically.
- Tried entering a fresh 6-digit Authenticator code.
- Used “Try another method”, but it only shows “Authenticator app”.
- Changed/reconfigured the Google Authenticator app successfully.
- Google confirmed that the Authenticator app has been changed.
- I also have backup codes available in my Google Account, but ChatGPT/Google’s login flow does not show me an option to use a backup code.
- I have tried logging in from both my phone and laptop.
- I contacted OpenAI Support, but I haven’t received a response yet.
I am still able to access the Google account from another device where it is already logged in.
Could someone please advise how I can regain access to my ChatGPT account when the only verification method available is an Authenticator code that is consistently being rejected?
