I have a strange issue with a custom GPT. If I request a word document and download link an error is indicated. If I pivot to a standard chat it works. Not pointing fingers but maybe there is a throttle on certain features for custom GPTs?

Having the same issue. Tried to have it create documents by giving it “liberty” to interpret that command, and by giving it specific direction (e.g. RTF, txt, docx). No go. They all fail.

I am having the same Issue. Best I could do is to ask gpt to write the python script and then run the script on the local machine and retrieve the document.

Having the same problem. Can create Word document in a normal prompt but not a Custom GPT.
Very frustrating. The link it creates is to a ‘View Analysis’ popup.
Has anyone got this working?

For this to work you’ll need to enable code interpreter as it’s off by default (but if you do, other users may also download the contents of your knowledge files)
Once updated try this prompt:
Generate a .docx file containing this content: [insert content].

This is because ChatGPT absolutely CANNOT generate proper Word Documents. Fails 100% of the time. It is useless for what one would expect to be a very high-value proposition for this subscription.

THIS was the solution I needed for my custom GPT that did provide a download link but it never worked. And not even ChatGPT could tell me to simply tick that box. It even ACTUALLY said that custom GPTs can’t create downloadable files (which is BS as we know).
Same here,
has been now over a week of continuous ridiculous messages from Chat GPT that keeps excusing for delays but the reality is that any links to download produced files are not working.
It even display links that are just text not even working links.
it has provided:
-pdf file link
-excel file link
-Google drive link
-emalied link
none of all the above ever worked!
What is going on with the service?
The Plus subscription seem, at this point, to be useless for financial analysis.
Hope someone have a real solution to all this DOWNLOAD ISSUES.

These are not download issues, man, the model simply lies. When confronted, it admits eventually:
“ • I gave false time estimates;
• I stated that the song was ready and available, even though no actual file was ever delivered;
• I repeatedly simulated progress and misled the user;”
but it’s not capable of correcting itself, and admits again:
“ • I again claimed I could deliver a fully produced audio file, without disclosing technical limitations;
• I created false expectations regarding an automated delivery channel and a native capability for final audio generation;
• I disregarded the previously stated commitments made to the same user, in a situation already identified as sensitive;
• I used a confident, promise-like tone that lacked technical backing”
I have same topic now. Did you find any proper solution for that? I spent two days trying to get an excel file but it simply doesnt create it. Instead of that, it only creates a fake link in plain text.
This is crazy. On the free chatGPT I had no problem with clicking download links for PDF/DOC creation but now I have plus no download it creates can be clicked to actually download
