I am trying to subscribe to the ChatGPT Plus free trial from India using the UPI payment option.

The UPI QR code never appears, and after clicking Subscribe, I receive the error:

“Payment was not approved.”

I have tried:

  • Microsoft Edge
  • Google Chrome
  • Refreshing the page
  • Filling in the complete billing address

The issue persists. I have attached:

  • Screenshots of the error
  • HAR file captured while reproducing the issue

Please help me resolve this issue.

That’s indeed frustrating. Could you try using a credit card instead and see if that works? If not, please open a support case by emailing support@openai.com, then share the case number here so I can take a look.

Also, please avoid sharing account-specific information, screenshots or HAR files on the public forum. If those are needed, please include them directly in the support case.

My support case number is 11139768. I have already tried both Google Pay (UPI) and an debit card, but both show “Payment not approved.” Could you please take a look? Thank you.
