In the past few days, the text-to-speech feature on the ChatGPT web version, activated by clicking the small speaker icon under the text, has stopped working. Does anyone know what’s going on? Please help resolve this issue

I encountered the same problem. The read-aloud feature on the web page is not working, but it can be used in the Android app. I also tried the iOS app, but it seems to not have this feature at all. I suspect the issue is due to an upgrade.
Your message implies that we might need to wait for another update from ChatGPT to possibly resolve the issue. Thank you.

The iOS app does have the feature. You need to long press the message and choose read aloud. It works in the iphone app but not in a desktop browser.

It must be related to the web version’s redesign because I used this feature before the redesign. After refreshing the page, it looked like this in the new version. The reason it works on Android, I guess, might be because the app hasn’t been updated yet. These are all my speculations, but I see many people discussing this issue in the bugs forum, so it will definitely be resolved quickly. Let’s wait together. Amitabha!
Yes, it’s unrelated to the latest voice announcement (I’m assuming of course, since it works on mobile.) It has worked fine for a long time before this week’s announcement.
Is there any update on this? I rely on TTS a ton

Hot damn I thought it was my pc who is the problem or i was the only one having this issue, since it took me only today to find this page. I even restarted my pc and all.

I ws using the webpage in version 3.5 on an iOS device and the text to speech worked fine in english, danish and german. In the mittle of my work I had a popup from openai asking me, if I would try version 4.0 for free. I said yes, and boom. Away was the feature. And now, after returning to 3.5, it is still gone.
Any updates on this? Mine also stoped working the following day after the 4o release!
